Welcome to the Land of the Rising Sun – Welcome to Japan!
For the first time, we are offering a Tango cruise to Japan; a country that fires the imagination, that can be both contemporary, yet also so "different" and exotic to us.
Let us explore the fascinating mix of super modern mega-cities and religious mystical sites. Welcome to the land of contrasts...
This unique travel experience is rounded off perfectly with lots of opportunities to tango on our ship. On this cruise, Felipe will accompany us with his Japanese wife & dance partner Ayano. In addition to the tango workshops, we can also learn first hand many interesting things from Ayano about the country she grew up in. Milongas on land & on board complement our journey, which even brings us as far as South Korea.

Japan in spring is an unrivaled experience - without a doubt the most beautiful season to visit. Our 12-day cruise "around Japan" begins and ends in Yokohama, which is not far from the Japanese capital Tokyo. We will discover some of the most interesting cities in Japan by ship, without any of the usual hassle one has with packing and unpacking bags.

Our starting point is Yokohama near Tokyo. With its imperial palace, the impressive Tokyo Tower and an infinite collection of cultural buildings such as the Meiji shrine or the Buddhist temple Senso-ji - the capital of Japan alone is a worthwhile destination and therefore we suggest extending your trip after the cruise.
From Yokohama we set sail together and the next day we reach Shimuzu: From here we can see the famous landmark of Japan; Mount Fuji. This 3776m high snow-capped mountain is revered by the Japanese as a national shrine. Its summit surpasses other peaks and sometimes, even the clouds - it is an unforgettable sight.
In our next port, we find ourselves in Kobe, where our ship lies overnight in the harbor. This gives us plenty of time to not only visit a milonga in Kobe, but we can also take in the sights of Nara and Kyoto. The former imperial city of Kyoto is a veritable treasure trove of Japanese culture; the variety of temples is immeasurable. The magnificent gardens are transformed through the course of the seasons in a fascinating way and we are particularly fortunate to be visiting Kyoto in the spring.
We reach the city of Kochi the next day, located on the island of Shikoku, visitors are offered a rare mixture of sandy beaches, mountain panorama and historical sites - the view from the castle is said to be quite impressive. Onwards to the infamous city of Nagasaki. For more than 200 years, during the Edo period until the middle of the 19th century, Nagasaki was the gateway for almost everything that came from abroad into Japan. Today, Nagasaki presents itself as a modern city with an international flair and is often described as a cultural melting pot. Having now gained some insight into Japan and its culture, our ship takes us to Busan. Busan is the second most populous city in South Korea and the largest port in the country after Seoul. A visit to the Korea’s largest fish market must not be missed.
After a relaxing day at sea, we make our way back to Japan, arriving in the port of Aomori on the most northern tip of the island of Honshu; the main island of Japan. We can take a trip to Hirosaki; the cherry blossom festival is normally celebrated in late April and is held in the park surrounding the beautiful hirayama-style Japanese castle - it all looks amazing, and without a doubt-unforgettable.
Another day at sea allows us time to look back on our many experiences, and thus we arrive once again in Yokohama, but now enriched with new impressions. As we have another night with our ship in Yokohama, we can visit the famous town Kamakura the following day. Kamakura has a great wealth of temples and monuments. The next morning we will disembark and either begin our return journey home or we can expect a fabulous time in Tokyo.
Come and be enchanted: Japan evokes a fascination, from which there is no escape. The land of smiles will also lift our hearts.
