On to paradise! During our 12-day cruise, we will discover some of the most beautiful tropical islands in the southern Caribbean. In the evening, we can dance tango aboard our ship- at sunset or possibly under the starry sky on the top deck.
Our journey begins in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The first two days are for relaxing, with no time pressures. We can enjoy the luxurious but carefree lifestyle aboard our elegant ship, the "Silhouette" and dance tango.
Then for the next seven days, you can forget everything else because it’s all about the Caribbean.

Our first stop, the island of St. Croix, is not only known for its fine sandy beaches, but also for its rich history: from the original inhabitants, who date back to 2500 B.C., to its exploration and colonization by many Europeans over the centuries- there’s plenty to see. From Frederiksted, the cruise port, it is not far to the beautiful Rainbow Beach- a popular little spot on the island. Here’s a tip: with its stunning, clear waters, coral reef and amazing underwater flora and fauna- St. Croix is a true Eldorado for snorkeling and diving.
Our next port is St. Maarten, a lively and bustling holiday island. Only 37 square miles across, it is a much-favored location for those who enjoy their food, appreciate culture, fabulous shorelines, and yes, a little duty-free shopping in between- we probably won’t be the only cruise guests who show up.
Now on to St. Lucia, one of the "pearls" in the Caribbean. A lush, emerald green carpet stretches out over large swathes of the island, covering the towering mountains and steep, sloping valleys with dense rainforest. The two volcanic peaks "Petit and Gros Piton" form the landmark of the island. Majestically, they rise steeply from the sea on the southwest coast, and repeatedly, one sees picturesque bays alternate with fine sandy beaches, all lined with palm trees – truly a paradise!
Grenada is equally as heavenly and exotic. Also called "the Spice Island", due to it being one of the world's largest producers of nutmeg. But it’s not only the aroma of nutmeg you can detect, take in the fragrant scent of cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and cocoa that thrive in the rich, productive, volcanic soil. There is so much to explore here: crater lakes, waterfalls, lush rainforest and 17th and 18th century fortifications. The most famous beach of the island is Grand Anse Beach, a three-kilometer crescent of golden sand, gentle waves, bordered by trees, and without a doubt- one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Our next "pearl" is Barbados. Barbados is a coral island because of how it was created- its base is made from upwardly-moving coral, not volcanic lava flow. From Bridgetown, the capital city, on the west coast of the island, snow-white sandy beaches are never too far away. Among the island’s other attractions are its sugarcane industry, rum distilleries, historic plantations, tropical gardens, museums, a wildlife preserve and an amazing underground limestone cave network.
Now it's off to Dominica, otherwise known as "the Nature Island of the Caribbean". You won’t find the typical glorious beaches of the Caribbean here or the mass tourism. Dominica has other treasures on offer; the Champagne reef, volcanoes covered in spectacular rainforest, teeming with interesting creatures, you can even find hot springs and the Boiling Lake. Unfortunately, in 2017 the island was badly damaged during Hurricane Maria and the people and the land have been rebuilding and regenerating ever since.
Our last port will be Basseterre on the small charming Caribbean island of St. Kitts: Basseterre attracts culture lovers with its historic buildings, many dating back to the French and British colonial era. Contrastingly, the beaches in the south of the island invite you to an unforgettable day of swimming and sunbathing, and possibly a crossing to St. Nevis: just over a narrow channel only three kilometers you can ferry to the small island of St. Nevis with its beautiful palm beaches.

What a fantastic ending to a wonderfully varied Caribbean cruise! It is important now, more than ever to enjoy the next two days on board our ship to the fullest, before we find ourselves back on land, when we return to Fort Lauderdale.

By the way, from December to April is the best travel time for the Caribbean. The hurricane season from July to November is over. We can fully enjoy the beach life with pleasant, warm temperatures. A Caribbean dream come true!

„Silhouette“, Celebrity Cruises:
The “Silhouette” is one of the most modern and stylish cruise ships of “Celebrity Cruises”.
We have been on board the sister ship "Equinox" several times for our Tango cruises and we have always been more than satisfied.Celebrity Cruise ships consistently rank among the best in the world. Everything on board has been designed with your well-being in mind. The “Silhouette” offers modern design-style, world-class cuisine, luxurious accommodation and outstanding service. There are numerous elegant bars with live music, cosy cafes, a three-story theatre, a discotheque and casino. Several “a la carte” restaurants offer an exclusive and private dining experience (service charge). Our group will have reserved tables in the main restaurant: enjoy a five-course menu served nightly in the elegant two-level restaurant. You also have the option to eat in the buffet restaurant with its large terrace overlooking the ocean. It is open almost all hours of the day to satisfy your appetite! (full board is included).
Feel the need for pampering? Then why not visit the AQUA SPA and indulge yourself with one of their treatments. And there’s the state of the art fitness centre, where you can shed those extra calories. Make your way to the Lawn Club: there really is nothing like it! A freshly manicured lawn on the highest deck of the ship: this is The Lawn Club. Enjoy casual outdoor activities in a decidedly Country Club atmosphere and feel the grass between your toes and relax your feet after dancing Tango! Modern comfortable cabins are equipped with air conditioning, television, safe, mini bar, shower and bathrobe. We have inner, outer and balcony cabins remaining. Suites are available upon request.
There are two dance floors on the ship. Depending on availability, we will organize some Milongas, which will take place mainly before Dinner so we can enjoy the beautiful sunsets and still be fit for the next day. Tango lessons will mainly be held in the Disco: here we have more privacy and can concentrate more easily on the lessons of Amanda and Adrian.
