Welcome to Sicily!
In autumn 2022 the time has finally come and we are looking forward to an unforgettable week full of sun, beach and sea! With tango at its best, of course: Fausto & Stephanie are full of energy to welcome us to their homeland, Sicily.
Our Tango Hotel is located near Noto in south-east Sicily. The pretty town is a jewel of baroque urban architecture. A stroll through Noto's picturesque pedestrian zone is delightful at any time of the day. Ragusa and Modica as well as Syracuse can be visited relaxed as a day trip.
When we were in Sicily two years ago in September, we immediately fell in love with the “Corte del Sole”. The location of the hotel is unique: the view over endless orange tree plantations to the sea is wonderful. Whether on the restaurant terrace or by the swimming pool: you don't really want to leave, you just want to enjoy the peace and quiet and the view. You can experience closeness to nature in many places: in the property with its countless olive and almond trees or on the fine sandy beach, which is part of the Vendicari nature reserve (protected beach, entrance fee € 3.50). Eloro beach can be reached on foot with a leisurely 20-minute walk through fields, without traffic. What a joy it is to run barefoot through the finest sand and swim in the crystal clear water, because in September the water is still pleasantly warm. In the hotel you can borrow beach towels (€ 4 per change) and free parasols for a small fee. If you prefer a lounger with an umbrella on the beach, you will find stretches of beach with appropriate service and associated restaurants and bars at Lido di Noto (approx. 10 minutes' drive from the hotel).
The Hotel Corte del Sole is a former manor from the 19th century and was converted into an extremely charming country hotel a few years ago. Great care was taken to ensure that typical Sicilian elements such as traditional tiles and stone elements are visible everywhere on the hotel grounds. The view from the swimming pool with a small pool bar and from the terrace of the “Le Muse” restaurant is incomparably beautiful, especially in the afternoon and at sunset. Here we also have our dinner together. In the “Corte del Sole” we cook typical Sicilian dishes and we enjoy a menu with local specialties. The breakfast buffet is served in the antique millstone room and can be taken on the lovely covered terrace. Homemade jams, seasonal fruits, homemade cakes, croissants, but also egg dishes, ham and cheese are available. During the day the bar by the pool offers little things like pannini.
At sunset, the bar awaits us for a refreshing Aperol Spritz, the perfect way to start the evening. Our milongas and tango courses take place exclusively outdoors: The dance floor is located in the beautiful inner courtyard of the main building and is specially set up for our tango week.
We have rented the hotel exclusively and therefore only tango dancers are on the beautiful property.
The guest rooms are spread over two buildings: in the main building, where the reception is located, or in the annex with direct access to the garden and swimming pool.
All rooms are approx. 20 square meters, have a shower / toilet, air conditioning, minibar and safe. Each room bears the name of a region or a landscape in Sicily. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have a typical, traditional Sicilian design made of tiles, wood or wrought iron.
The main difference between the guest rooms is their location. There are 35 rooms in total.
The Mediterraneo rooms type "Patio" are located on the ground floor facing the inner courtyard. Suitable for night owls as you can hear the tango music here.
The Mediterraneo rooms type "Patio Balcony" are on the first floor facing the patio and have a balcony with a view of the inner courtyard and the sea.
The Mediterraneo rooms type "Giardino" are on the side facing away from the patio and face the olive and lemon trees of the property. They are located on the ground floor or on the first floor.
The "Oasi" rooms are in the annex with direct access to the swimming pool and the garden. You have a sitting area in front of the respective room entrance. There are rooms on the ground floor or on the first floor.
All "Oasi" and "Patio Balcony" rooms also offer a coffee machine and bathrobes for your stay.
We rented the house exclusively for our tango week, so there are no other holiday guests on site. The milongas start around 9 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.
Tango vacation in Sicily
We dance for the first time in the homeland of Fausto & Stephanie, in Sicily. For this we have chosen the charming country estate “Corte del Sole” near Noto, because we find a lot here that defines Sicily for us: a local authentic cuisine with vegetables and herbs from our own cultivation, a unique view over the landscape with many olive trees and orange plantations , a warm atmosphere through the family-run hotel with lots of flair and charm. The inner courtyard, the "Corte del Sole": translated = sun courtyard. This patio used to be the center of the country estate. And this is exactly where we want to dance with you! The square patio is ideal for setting up a dance floor right here. The dance floor will be parquet floor and the pure dance floor will be approx. 90 square meters. There are enough chairs and tables around the dance floor. During the day, umbrellas provide shade, in the evening we would like to dance with you under the starry sky. The weather is usually still pleasantly warm in September, even into the night. If, contrary to expectations, rain is forecast for the week, a tent-like pavilion will be set up to protect us and the ground from precipitation.
There will be three course groups. Classes take place either in the morning or in the afternoon and the course times roll over. The milongas take place from 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
You should arrive on Saturday by 5:00 p.m.
The closest airport is Catania, about 90 minutes drive on a well-developed motorway to Noto. There are various rental car providers at Catania Airport. It is advisable to book the rental car early.
An airport transfer can be organized on request (costs per person depending on the number of participants from approx. € 60 each way).
The rooms are ready for occupancy from 3 p.m. On the day of departure, check-out should take place by around 11:00 a.m.
If you want to spend more time in Sicily, you can also consider a round trip by rental car. Places to stay in: Catania, Taormina, Cefalu, Palermo, Trappani, Agrigento. We are happy to pass on tips from our Sicily trips.
In addition, it is of course also a good idea to add a few days of beach vacation to relax before or after the tango week directly in the Corte del Sole. The beach is wonderful and those who just want to dance and relax during the tango week can then go on interesting day trips directly from the hotel. Ragusa, Modica, Marzammemi and Syracuse are each about 30-60 minutes drive from the hotel and are definitely worth a visit.
We recommend booking the additional nights in good time so that the room can be reserved without moving.

Fausto Carpino and Stephanie Fesneau are a young and dynamic dance couple. They live in Sicily and so far they have taught in many countries and many Tango Festivals in the world. For the last three years, Fausto & Stephanie teaches on our travels and we are very pleased.
Fausto and Stephanie dedicate themselves to transmitting their passion to others. They teach with personal engagement, esprit, and charm. They believe that connection, musicality, and technique are the keys to fully appreciate the beauty of tango. In their classes, they concentrate on how to propose oneself to the partner in a comfortable way within the embrace, based on logic and natural movements.
There will be ten hours of workshops and practicas from Monday through Friday. There will be two groups. Lessons will be for advanced dancers, minimum two years of dance experience.
The lessons and milongas take place in the neighboring community hall with an excellent parquet floor and a beautiful view over the „Bizauer Moos“ (Bizauer Moss) and to the mountains.
